There are two types of laser priter machine, one is called UV laser printer, another is called fiber laser printer. Due to the different wavelengths of light, two types laser printers are suitable for different materials and scenarios.
Clients can choose to use UV laser printer or fiber laser printer accordingly. In the extrusion field, many clients choose laser printer for their products.
CO, laser marking systems can typically print serial numbers, internal tracking numbers and traceability information on glass (white or colored glass). 2D codes are less common but can be achieved with the appropriate spot size. Small spot sizes are recommended for marking glass to achieve a smooth mark. Using larger spot sizes may produce large micro cracks that feel rough to the touch.
CO2 lasers are suitable for printing on two main types of metal materials: coated metals and anodized aluminum. Typical applications require printing of logos and/or alphanumeric characters, such as batch numbers. When marking on anodized aluminum, high-quality DataMatix codes can also be printed. For coated metals, if the coating is too thick, it may cause inconvenience to the CO2 laser. To achieve the desired marking effect, it may be necessary to increase the power of the laser or reduce the speed of the packaging line.

PET packaging manufacturers are increasingly using “thin wall” PET in an attempt to reduce costs and waste. This creates difficulties for laser marking, as thinner materials can burn through. Choosing the appropriate wavelength can produce alternative marking effects to address this problem. Another marking requirement for PET is the ability to print at high speeds, as most applications involve high-speed marking of beverages with alphanumeric expiration dates and batch information.
